Utah is a Nursing Licensure Compact State.

Prescriptive Authority in Utah

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses may apply for prescriptive authority for Schedule II-V controlled substances. Schedule II-III controlled substances require a consultation and referral plan and may not be written for weight management. A $100 initial fee is required. A $78 renewal fee is also required every 2 years.

Utah Nursing Licensure Renewal

Nursing licenses in Utah expire biennially. Thirty contact hours of approved continuing education are required for Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse license renewal.
